Black Friday

I am overwhelmed at the idea that Black Friday is almost here!  I can't believe it!  I am a die hard shopper for Black Friday and shopped Black Friday before Black Friday was cool!  I have shopped BF well, sick, pregnant (almost to delivery), good hair, bad hair, etc.  I'm a BF SHOPPER.

But I find myself, and perhaps it's an age thing, becoming more and more disappointed that all the stores are now opening on THANKSGIVING DAY.  I mean seriously, can we just have ONE day of THANKS?  That being said, if I want the good deals and the goods, I'll have to be in Wal-Mart by 6:00pm on Thanksgiving Day!

I know to some you are thinking that takes away from my family time, but my boys ALWAYS stay with my in-laws after Thanksgiving (their choice) OR go with my husband to the hunting woods.  It's not like I forgo massive family time to go shopping.

What's your take on Black Friday?

Wedding Bells....

Wedding bells rang last Friday evening as hubby's cousin Jennifer was married to her beau, Matthew!  They are so good for one another and are SO HAPPY together!

We were so humbled when they asked the boys to be a part of their wedding by joining the bridal party and really had a great time with it!  Hubby was a groomsman and both my boys carried signs down the aisle.

I don't have many pictures (I know, I know).....but we had an absolute blast at the reception!  We danced the night away until about 11:00pm (the wedding was at 5:00, and was finished by 5:20, so that is A LOT OF DANCING).  My muscles hurt all over the next day! HA!

Congratulations Jennifer and Matthew!  We love y'all very much!

Halloween (yes, I realize it's mid-November)

I realize it's mid-November, but I did want to look back years from now and remember the Halloween that I "threw" together in about 1 hour! HA!

We had kind of decided not to go trick-or-treating since both boys had little parties in their classrooms and it was a school night.  Along came Halloween though and hubby and I decided we would take the boys around to a few houses in town and let them trick or treat just a little bit.

Because I didn't plan on any of this, I didn't really have "costumes" for them, but baseball uniforms always work well in a pinch! HA!

My cute ball players ready for trick or treating!  We loaded up with a set of our cousins and rode in the back of hubby's truck through town. (don't worry, everyone does that here).

What a Happy Halloween it turned out to be!

Not Your Ordinary Brownies

Y'all.  I had the most divine brownies known to man on Saturday night.  I'm normally a buy whatever is cheapest brownie girl, but I had a hankering for some GOOD brownies on Saturday night.

I first had these brownies a month or so ago when my co-worker brought some in.  DIVINE.  HEAVEN.  SO GOOD.

Do yourself a favor and go get one of these brownie mixes!  It will not disappoint!

p.s.  Ghiradelli has NO idea who I am! I just loved their brownies!

Tractor Driving

It was hay time here about a month ago (does that tell you how far behind I am in blogging?) and now that Nolan is getting older, he is able to help more and more on the farm. Hubby enlisted Nolan to fluff the hay.

I'm a HUGE proponent of farm safety so hubby had to go over all the rules with Nolan before he got on this open cab tractor by himself. This was the first time Nolan had driven a tractor in the field for real work.

All these pictures were taken after the real work was done.  Nolan is in the front tractor and hubby is behind him on the big tractor.  Nolan was so proud he was able to help and contribute to the farm!

Driving like a pro.  I did have to remind him to face FRONT while driving though.  HA!

He whipped that tractor in the gate and to the barn like a farmer! (even though I have told him that farming is NOT the profession he should go into)
Nothin' like some tractor driving....

Our Weekend & Weekly Menu

It seems like this weekend went by SO FAST !  Friday night was the annual Fall Carnival at Carter's school (which was a huge success), then Saturday we went to the Gator game (it was SO HOT and the boys and I were absolutely MISERABLE!  It was so bad they were begging to go home and do Xtra Math on the computer).  Sunday was church and then I had a mini photo session this afternoon.  Add in a couple loads of laundry, signing school papers, and gathering items for the week and.....

Poof.  There went the weekend.

I've got a busy week this week with a few meetings and we're also getting ready for hubby's cousin's wedding on Friday - all 3 of my boys are in the wedding, so I'm trying to get us packed to go there too.

All that to say our menu is quite simple this week!

Monday - Chicken and Cheese Quesadillas
Tuesday - Mimi's house!
Weds - Spaghetti or leftovers from Sunday
Thursday - Lasagna (because we didn't have it a few weeks ago when I thought I was)
Friday - WEDDING !

Have a good week!

Student of the Month - Nolan

Nolan was Student of the Month for "high academic achievement"!!!  The school/PTO had a little Student of the Month breakfast this morning with juice and doughnuts!  It was SO CUTE.

Here is our little academic achiever!  We are SO PROUD OF HIM!!!!!!!
