a short BEACH TRIP
I was able to leave work early last Friday, and as soon as I got home, we loaded up and headed towards Daytona. (in case you were wondering, I LOVE the beach and NO. I didn't get enough of it for 2 weeks in July, ha-ha).
Before we got into the "forest", on the way there, we had to make a pit-stop at Sweet Jane's in Ocala. If you've never been there, you are missing out on some SERIOUSLY good dessert! She makes the best whoopie pie I've ever had!!!!! She has all sorts of flavors and whatnot, but I bought the Carrot Cake, Chocolate with Vanilla, and a German Chocolate.

Look at the sweet goodness inside these things!!! YUM!!!!!!!!
We did make it to Daytona and decided to have some fun in the sun Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tide had come in and gone back out, but left the boys a nice little "pool" of water to swim in. It was PERFECT!
This picture cracks me up. Sort of deems a caption of "a boy and his dog"...ha-ha-ha

Talk about tan lines? These boys sure do have 'em!

Daytona Beach 2010
I am very late in posting about our annual summer vacation, a nice 2-week beach trip! I am so fortunate to have 3 condos (timeshares) in Daytona Beach (technically Ormond Beach, but most people have no idea what/where Ormond is). I use them without fail, every. single. year. The same 2 weeks every. single. year.
I’ll spare you lots of words on this post and show you pictures…you’ll get the idea.
Basically, our vacation (and I say “our” as in myself, the babysitter, and the boys, cause my hubby hates the beach. He did come down for a few days, but that’s it) consisted of food, more food, eating out food, junk food, sun, sand, pool, beach, family pictures, food, and FRIENDS (who are like FAMILY). Oh yeah. And more food.
The cute rug I bought at Target, which welcomed all who entered in our dungeon of wrath condo.
It’s tradition. We ALWAYS get Pizza Hut the first night we’re at the beach. And you don’t question tradition. Just eat the pizza.
Didn’t I tell you there was lots of food?
Pool time.
Beach time.
Treasures…….(I think most people call these sand crabs or something)
More beach time.
Boogie Boarding. (and it was definitely boogie at your own risk, cause y’all know I’m NOT getting in the ocean)
I love this sequence of pictures. I was trying to get a good picture of my 2 nieces and the boys, and well…you’ll see…..
Aunt Catfish’s seafood…YUM. Hello shrimp!
One of our other favorites is Down the Hatch…YUM.
Our ULTIMATE favorite is the River Grille. I can’t tell you how many people we have “hooked” on eating at this place now!
Family time! This is my beautiful sister-in-law, Nichole. My brother and SIL vacation at the same place every year at the same time we do. Oddly enough, we live within 15 minutes of each other, but see each other the most while on vacation 2 hours from home. Go figure.
My aunt, and her 2 kids happened to be vacationing at a resort just down from where we were, so we loaded up one afternoon and went down to see her and my cousins. This is my cousin Wes, me, niece Kailey, cousin Brooke, and other niece, Taylor!
Aunt Tracey and I……
We ended up having such a good time all together that afternoon, we decided to head to dinner that night together…….the kids did so good and had a blast!
I told you my vacation revolved around food. But by the way, let me just say how proud I am of this picture. I don’t know what I did to make it turn out so good, but it is. Well, you might not think so, but I do. Ha-ha.
Cecil (the hubs) and my Aunt Tracey……
Family pictures…..my brother goes on random bike rides while we’re down at the beach, and he scouted out a beautiful place for his family to have some pictures made. Isn’t this a great shot of my brother and SIL?
After dinner on that same night, we headed down to the beach for some “bigger” family pictures. Yes. I color coordinate. It’s what I do.
My dad even snuck down for a few days….we snagged a picture of him with the “grandbabies”
Well. That about sums it up. Thanks for touring our summer vacation with us. Y’all come back now, ya hear?
