Ever since Carter was a little fellow, he has LOVED and I mean LOVED, Paul Bunyan. Yes, Paul Bunyan.
Here’s the evidence.

Y’all, I’ve been so busy lately—that’s no excuse, but it’ll have to do. I’ve sort of been in a little funk and can’t seem to climb uphill and get out. More on that in another blog.
Forgot to show y’all my “babies” graduating from swimming about a month ago!
I’ll be back with some more blogging here in the next few days, I promise!

The boys were invited to a Pumpkin Party last Friday night by their sweet friends Annabelle and Allie Claire. Annie and Carrie really outdid themselves with the decorations, and everything was so cute! Perfect for a fall party! We don’t really do the whole “Halloween” thing, so pumpkins, candy corn, and hayrides were right up our alley.
My boys dressed as Buzz Lightyear and Bumblebee Transformer
On the hayride, loaded up, and ready to go!
We got to see the buffalo up close and personal! My boys loved it!
After the hayride, we all grabbed the pumpkins we brought to carve! This was my FIRST experience carving a pumpkin! And since mine turned out “special” it will probably be my LAST! ha-ha
All the kids left with a special treat bag…..
Our sweet friends that invited us to the great pumpkin party!
We had such a great time and I was able to meet some great blog girls and reconnect with the blog girls I already knew! What a fun time!!
Happy Fall Y’all!

WAAAYYYY back in September, Becca, from The Texas Darlings invited me to participate in an eight question fun bloggy adventure! Because I was busier than a one-arm paper hanger at the time (and still am, but I’m making the time to do this now) I didn’t participate, but told her I would at some point.
To answer Becca’s questions, here goes nothing……
1. Where were you born? and your parents? what is your ancestry?
I was born in Gainesville, Florida and have lived near there since I was born (there are no hospitals in the town we live in—well, there IS, but you don’t want to go there. Trust me). My Mom was born in San Antonio, Texas, and my Dad was born in Suwannee, Florida.
My ancestry is a bit harder for me, because I don’t know much. My maternal grandmother is 100% Mexican, therefore, I’m 1/4 Mexican. Annie always teases me when I cook tacos or quesadillas that I’m going back to my roots! HA! Other sides of the family, I have no idea about.
2. What is your least favorite memory from those awkward high school days?
That’s a tough one. I’d have to say I don’t really have any least favorite memories….None that I can think of anyhow.
3. Grab your favorite photo you have ever taken. Tell us why it's your favorite.
It was hard to narrow this down! I love this picture, and it’s one of my MANY favorites! The boys are my 2, and the girls are my brother’s……this was taken on our annual family vacation at the beach, and they had NO IDEA this wave was sneaking up on them, but I could see it in my view. It was PERFECT! I love the unbridled expression on their faces!
4. What song instantly picks you up and makes your day go even better?
Hard one. I don’t know? I don’t get to listen to music that often……let’s see??? I LOVE “Imagine Me Without You” and I love anything by Lady Antebellum.
5. How did you & your husband meet? Tell us the love story!
HA! Hubs and I met in high school (he was one grade ahead of me). He was a football player, and I was a cheerleader. Typical “love story”. We met one day before football/cheer practice and we’ve been together ever since. I was 15 and he was 16.
6. What is your favorite snack?
If you saw the scale, you’d say I like EVERYTHING. My favorite snack in high school was Ruffles potato chips, with mustard on them, then dill pickles on top of that. Yes, I have issues. ha-ha-ha Now, my favorite snack is probably Wheat Thins with cheese.
7. What was your first concert? Tell us what you remember about it!
I have NO IDEA. Really. No idea. Must have been great, huh?
8. What makes you the happiest?
Being with my family and friends, reading a good book, the BEACH, scrapbooking, sunbathing (shhh..don’t tell my doctor), eating, cooking, photography…….on and on. I’m learning that the older I get, it’s about simplicity. I love simple things.
Alright ya’ll. That’s my EIGHT! Hope you enjoyed learning more about me!

What would FALL be without a quick trip to the PUMPKIN PATCH? It has become somewhat of a tradition to take the boys each year to the Pumpkin Patch nearby. The boys have been invited to a Pumpkin Party on Friday and needed pumpkins to carve, so hubs and I figured this was the only night available to get pumpkins!!
It’s also a tradition to sit ‘em down and have their picture made. It’s so sweet to look back on the last few years’ worth of pumpkin pictures and see how quickly they are growing up!
ALL sorts of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes!
Quite interesting, I might add.
We ended up with a few pumpkins for decoration, 2 teeny tiny pumpkins for 2 sweet little girls that we’re going to see on Friday, and a pumpkin for each of the boys!
HAPPY FALL Y’ALL!

We’re having a Fall Festival thingie (for lack of a better term) at our church on Sunday evening, and I was asked to make a sign for the Greeter Ministry booth. The Greeter booth is going to be a Candy Corn Toss.
I got out all my supplies, ribbon, chalk, cotton, glue, etc. I had NO idea what I was going to do, only that I wanted to be creative and make a cute sign.
I started with a piece of white posterboard (Which by the way, did y’all know posterboard is now $1.19? It was like .50c when I was in school! This is highway robbery!)
Then I cut some letters using my Cricut machine. I happened to have in my inventory, some paper that looked like candy corn, so I used that!
Chalk and paints….still at this point, not sure what of these supplies I was going to use, ha-ha.
I decided I wanted my poster to look somewhat “old” or “antique”, which meant I needed to chalk the edges in brown.
Then, I set my letters.
Added some ribbon to the board and tied a piece of ribbon to the “o” in corn. You can NEVER have too much ribbon. I’m convinced.
TA-DA!! THE FINAL PRODUCT!!!!
(See? NEVER too much ribbon)
I’m excited to see all the other signs too and can’t wait for the festival!
