Field trip to........

Yep, you see it correctly.  Nolan's class took a field trip to PUBLIX!  We had a blast!  The kids took a field trip to Publix because they were learning about goods and services so they needed to review foods and food services!

I'll insert a FUNNY story here.   Most of y'all know that I coupon and by coupon, I mean, if I don't have a coupon for it, it doesn't get purchased.  Yeah.  I'm one of those.  Anyhow, I told Nolan I was going with him on his field trip to Publix and he said "Momma, you're not bringing your coupons are you?"......HAHAHAHAHAH.  Poor child.  Guess he would have been embarrassed?!?!

The kids had a great time listening about different items and processes in the grocery store....Oh yes, the hairnets are darling aren't they?  If you wanted to go "backstage" you HAD to wear one.  Yeah.  I was looking a hot mess.  Hence the reason you see NO pictures of me in this post.

And an even better time when they got to see raw meat being packaged, ground, and cut!

The kids were able to go into the fruit/vegetable preparation kitchen and see how the fresh fruit cups were made and they even got a sweet treat!
Look how HUGE that strawberry is!

Next up was the bakery and the kids watched a cake being decorated, then they were allowed to decorate their own cookie!

Publix was more than gracious to our kids by giving them popcorn, cookies, fruit, cheese, and goody bags at the end!  Nolan had a great time with great friends!
And in case you were wondering.  YES!  I did pick up a coupon booklet on my out.  So there. Ha!

  1. i love Publix but we can't convience them to put one up here in the North Georgia mountains. But stories like this one is why I like them so much. My daughter is also the coupon queen, her Mama not so much.
