See you (soon) Papa

Cecil’s grandfather (on his Mama’s side) passed away on Tuesday morning.  Early.  Like 5:55 AM early.  What’s the deal with the 5 am stuff?  When my Mama passed, hers was at 5:23AM.

Anyhow.  I have to tell y’all the SWEETEST man on earth went to heaven this week.  I LOVED Cecil’s Papa from the day I met him.  So kind and gentle.  Always a smile on his face.  And the several hundred people at his funeral (& viewing)?  A sure sign of the legacy he left and the impact he made on MANY people.

Because we KNOW where he went, it’s not goodbye.  It’s see you soon.

  2. I'll start over...I'm feeling such sympathy for all of you about Mr. Truluck's passing. I heard from your Mother-in-law very early Tuesday - I'd been praying over here for him. I have to admit I prayed that God would release Mr. T from his earthly pain and suffering and take him home. I know many were asking the same. My heart has been heavy for Janice and her mother. If you haven't seen the "guest book" on the obituary on the Gainesville Sun, check it out. He was a man who touched many lives. Last time I saw him was back in March of 2008 - when I was there for U. Cecil's big 80th b-day bash. I am so glad I got to see him then. As I write this, in the back of my mind I am humming: "when we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be...when we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory". Wish I could have been there to celebrate his life with you all - Love and hugs to you all down there. I miss you always.

  4. So sad for you Charon. Good that you have such wonderful memories though. I've been SO absent in blogland... I'm hoping that is coming to a close now that the school year begins for me tomorrow... back in routine! Hallelujah! :)

  5. Charon, I'm so sorry to hear that your family lost a special papa this week! I know just what you mean. I am 100 percent crazy about Adam's grandfather and so thankful that I inherited him when I married Adam. I know you must be feeling lost now that he has gone on to heaven, but what an awesome example I am sure he was not only for your husband, but also your boys!
