a short BEACH TRIP

I wanted to do something fun with the kids before they start back to school, so I decided to take them to the beach last weekend. Because I own timeshares at this particular place, I get a great rate (and by great, I mean $40 per night), so I decided I would take them Friday and Saturday nights.

I was able to leave work early last Friday, and as soon as I got home, we loaded up and headed towards Daytona. (in case you were wondering, I LOVE the beach and NO. I didn't get enough of it for 2 weeks in July, ha-ha).

Before we got into the "forest", on the way there, we had to make a pit-stop at Sweet Jane's in Ocala. If you've never been there, you are missing out on some SERIOUSLY good dessert! She makes the best whoopie pie I've ever had!!!!! She has all sorts of flavors and whatnot, but I bought the Carrot Cake, Chocolate with Vanilla, and a German Chocolate.

Look at the sweet goodness inside these things!!! YUM!!!!!!!!

We did make it to Daytona and decided to have some fun in the sun Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tide had come in and gone back out, but left the boys a nice little "pool" of water to swim in. It was PERFECT!

This picture cracks me up. Sort of deems a caption of "a boy and his dog"...ha-ha-ha

Talk about tan lines? These boys sure do have 'em!

Around noon on Saturday, the rains came. And came. And came. I felt like building an ark. Thankfully, we're only 2 hours from home when we're there, so we packed up and headed back to the house! All in all, even though it was short, we had a great time!
Our next adventure awaits us next week. You'll have to guess what it is!

  1. You have taken some great pictures this summer. While I'm not a huge beach fan I would like to go again this summer and was thinking about a day trip sometime soon too! I just don't know where to go yet!!
