Summertime means Ice-Cream and Surfing!

Peaches are in season and for our family, that means Pop (Cecil’s grandfather) calls everyone down for a big ole’ churn of homemade peach ice-cream!

The kids love, I LOVE it, everyone loves it!

After getting a belly-full of delicious, fattening, peach ice-cream, we headed outside for some redneck fun! (HA!)

Pop has a golf cart and hooked up a big piece of plastic (from the bottom of a feed trough) to it, and lets the great-grandkids “surf” on it!  It’s hysterical and the kids LOVE IT!

  1. Haven't had any peach ice cream yet. Someone gave me some peaches, but I think they were picked too early. sniff

  2. this could be my most favorite post you've ever done! :) I have a soft spot for grandaddys, especially older ones! :), for the name "Pop" (thats what my dad is) and peaches, and homemade ice cream! Not to mention this sounds way too much like my own family! :) Love it. What a blessing for Cecil to still have his "Pop" and for the boys to know and love their great-grandfather. I just love it.

  3. What a fun time! I love homemade icecream too, who doesn't right? The yard-surfing is something I can see our family doing too. These are great memories in the making!

  4. I love the surfing. LOL. My uncle used to do that with us, too. And peach ice cream? Ooh-la-la. I've always liked peaches, but this year, we got a pile of them, and I fell in love with them all over again. Glad y'all had fun!

  5. Aww...now I'm just plain jealous, seeing that churn of homemade peach ice cream. I love seeing the boys surfing - Nolan has given me some exciting rides in that golf cart last year - LOL! I miss you all alot and was so sorry to hear that Mr. Truluck passed away - he was a wonderful man.
