Bittersweet

I got something very bittersweet the other day when I picked up Carter from school/daycare (he does VPK in the mornings and then after-school care in the afternoons).  Can you read what it is?  See the top line on the form?

It's a Kindergarten Enrollment Form.  Moment of silence please.  I didn't think this day would come so soon!  My "baby" is going to school!

I'm very excited for him, but it's also marking the serious passage of time (and age, but I'm going with time here, ha-ha)!  No more preschool......

Bittersweet.

  1. Not being a mom myself, I can't really empathize with you, but having taken care of my share of kids - I know how you feel. My nephew will be there in a few years (he turns 3 in a few weeks and I could have sworn he was just born yesterday!). We're here for you!!

  3. Charon, seriously! Did you have to remind me?!? Way has been in PK for the last 2 years, in the same class, with the same kids, and same 2 wonderful teachers!! The thought of kindergarten an leaving those teachers, the class, and the kids behind hurts my heart!

  6. It is HARD to believe he is getting so big! I understand the feeling - I am remembering seeing my baby (now 36) getting on the bus his first day of school. Still makes me a little emotional! All the more reason to make the most of each day - the way Jesus told us to - but the way I mostly forget to do in all the bustle of "daily life".
