Remembering the USS Cole

Twelve years ago today, the USS Cole was bombed in the port of Yemen, a senseless terrorist attack.  Twelve years ago today, my family received news that no family should ever endure.  My brother was on that ship and we had no idea for DAYS whether he was one of the soldiers killed or if he had been spared.

Thankfully, his life was spared, although he will forever have emotional scars from this attack.  Today, I'm remembering the lives of those lost on the USS Cole and the lives of those still with us, for both paid a price.

Freedom isn't free.

  3. We should all remember that, freedom isn't free. Thankful for your brother's service, the service of all men and women who serve in the military, and for the service of their families. Love you!
